What To Expect

This class will provide an overview of drawing concepts and techniques to give an artist a foundation to build their skills. Using graphite pencils and charcoal, subjects covered will include line control, drawing from observation, shading, and how to use references to draw from imagination. Join us weekly on Sundays at the House Of Orange from 1 PM - 230 PM

Beginning & intermediate drawers are welcome. This is a fundamental course designed for beginners. Experienced drawing students are welcome to join the fun and learn new techniques. This semi-private class is limited to six students. This course was created for adults. Kids under 12 are welcome to attend with an adult. 

*If you can't make one of the scheduled dates in the term, you will be allowed a make-up class the following month. We are artists, therefore flexible. Don't let a schedule conflict prevent you from joining the fun!

Instructor Greg Scott, Artist & Illustrator

Greg Scott earned his BFA in Visual Communication from Northwest College of Art and Design, majoring in illustration and entertainment art. His creative career spans digital animation, illustration, and fine art.

Cannon Beach’s 2025 Artist of the Year, Greg brings plenty of technical know-how—and a good sense of humor—to the classroom. He’ll help you learn to draw what you see, understand why it works, and hopefully avoid turning every object into a potato.

Bring a sketchbook 9" X 12" or 11" X 14" 

October 4 weekly sessions, repeats weekly for 4 weeks:
